Jadyn McPherson’s nerves are still rattled after he says he spotted a man who appeared to be in his 40s lurking from his car in the park trying to get his attention.
“He laid out money on his dash board and I was, like, wondering what is he doing,” he said.
He says when he walked off the basketball court away from his friends the man tried to get him in his car.
“I walk over to the water fountain to get a drink. He gets out of his car. He looks at me and he goes, ‘$200 bucks’ — I was like, ‘For what’ and he goes, ‘What? Don’t believe me? You can climb in my car and I can show you the proof,’” said McPherson.
McPherson says he backed away and called his mother, Lisa Jenkins, who told him to call police.
“I’m not sure what he’s after. I don’t know if it’s to proposition young boys for sex. It could be something worse if there is us such a thing, but I can’t think of any good reason why he would want to get a teenage boy into his car,” said Jenkins.
“I heard about two days ago prior that this happened to another person’s child, and just like that mother I didn’t think this guy was going to come back around and try it again but apparently this guy is that bold,” she said. “Keep a good eye on your kids. This guy seems to be targeting older teenage males.”
The mother says the description of the man was similar in both incidents. He is described as a white man with balding gray hair and was seen driving a newer silver Honda Accord with duct tape covering part of the license plate.
FOX19 is expecting to hear more from police in the morning.
